Lessons are on a one-to-one basis. As well as my own private guitar lessons business, I also teach two nights a week in a busy local music store. Additionally for the past 15 years I have been giving guitar lessons at the prestigious Blue Coat School in Oldham, widely regarded as one of the best schools in the country. Recently I also worked with Fender Guitars on a Learn to Play guitar tour, visiting many cities across the UK giving free introductory lessons to the public.

The guitar lessons are based around YOU, what YOU like to play, what YOU listen to and YOU enjoy. Every song can be suited to your own playing ability.

Want to work towards accredited guitar grades? No problem!! I teach Rockschool, Trinity and RGT exam courses (Electric, Acoustic and Rock). Also I teach the LCM and ABRSM Classical Guitar exams up to grade 8. I also teach the UKULELE exams up to grade 8. These are brand new and I’m very excited to be one of the first tutors to offer qualifications in ukulele playing! All these qualifications/grades are officially recognised and accredited by the QCA (Qualifications & Curriculum Authority) and DFES (Department for Education and Skills) both of which are official government bodies.

Former pupils I’ve taught have gone on to play gigs with some of the BIGGEST bands in the world. (Not just in a tent on the other side of the field but actually with and as tour support) including:

When I’m not teaching guitar I play in the successful ska/pop/reggae band D.I.L.E. My music has featured on Radio 1, Xfm and many more stations. We have supported bands such as The Fall, Bad Manners, The Beat, Stiff Little Fingers, The Alarm and The Undertones to name just a few. In 2016 I supported Jon Gomm (Viral YouTube sensation and part of the recent UK Guitar Masters tour). On this tour I performed a solo set of my own touchstyle guitar arrangements. In another role I also act as a tour manager for Twisted Wheel and have helped ensure performances run smoothly at some of the best festivals in the country. This has included the main stages at Kendal Calling and the Reading and Leeds festivals.  And additionally some of the biggest arenas in the UK and abroad on tour supporting LIAM GALLAGHER.

I have been a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) since it started in 1992. I am ENHANCED CRB checked and conform to the new Disclosure and Barring Service(DBS) which came into force in 2013.
